MotorCity By Night

Session 6
Excitement in Elysium!

The night began at the DIA, a Toreador-sponsored event. Any Kindred that was anybody was there. Vasili snuck in as one of the staff, serving refreshments. Fischer and Genevieve came in through the front, acting as the guests they were. The night went well, filled with rumors of Lilian’s discovery, Sheryl’s involvement, and what the cause was.
Eventually, the night was interrupted by the arrival of Marcus. Everything ground to a halt as Oscar squared off against his old nemesis. Marcus, confused as he was, tried to explain what was going on, even going so far as to point out Fischer. As the conversation continued, Winston, who was beside Oscar, suddenly appeared behind Marcus, piercing his chest with Oscar’s sword. A scuffle ensued, Marcus throwing Winston several feet before trapping him with what appeared to be Temporis. Marcus and Oscar squared off once again, Oscar declaring Lextalionis on Marcus, allowing diablerie upon the Malkavian. Marcus, wisely, disappeared from Elysium.
Fischer and Genevieve wandered down to plan how to handle this. Being outed by Marcus was worrisome to Fischer, but what was more worrisome was Marcus reappearing next to the two of them. He continued his explanation, though he became more irrational as it went on. When the two mentioned the symbols that Lilian had drawn in her cell, he freaked out and disappeared again. Vasili, meanwhile, was gathering intelligence about the goings-on, discovering from Kasiel that there were suspicious shipments coming in from Egypt, and that they would need to be investigated.
Genevieve and Fischer found Vasili and decided to follow through on one of Chadwick’s earlier tips: That a company had just arrived in Windsor. Genevieve’s research had revealed the company to be a part of a much larger company: the Pentex Corporation.
Going to Kasiel for assistance, they found that he had a way across the river: a mysterious smuggler going only by Edwards.
The smuggler had them strapped to the bottom of his boat (for it surely couldn’t be called a ship), and went across the river. Bringing them into Wndsor, he warned them that they had no friends here, and that any position they had might only prove to be a detriment.
The coterie went on to explore the newly-arrived company, GeoTECH. Breaking into the lobby and dispatching of the guards, they made quick work of the additional, and well-equipped security. Making their way into the lab, they found a great deal of research involved in mixing what appeared to be blood (or potentially Vitae) with Hawthorne, an herb. They took as many samples as they could, taking a list that appeared to have addresses and dates on it as well.
At that moment, a scientist appeared in the room, asking who they were. When they tried to bluff their way out, he announced that he could easily smell what they were.
With this, the scientist began to shift. Gaining 150 lbs of muscle, fur, claws and teeth. A fully grown werewolf stood before them. He leapt across the room, slamming into Vasili. The two scuffled, Vasili finding himself the subject of the stories he had heard in the Siberian tundra. Lupine claws tore deep.
Fischer managed to find a sample of hydrochloric acid and poured it on the werewolf’s face, blinding him. During this time, Maurice managed to get a hold on the werewolf, peeling it away from Vasili. Together, they managed to hold off the werewolf long enough for everyone to escape, swiftly following. The werewolf chased them, blinded and angry.
Eventually, they managed to escape, racing back to Edwards’ boat. He promptly brought them back to Detroit, where they ended their night at the Chantry, to heal and go over their findings.

Whatever Happened to Lillian Sinclair?

The night began, as they seem to, at the Envy Lounge. The police had the nearby area curtained off to hide a murder nearby, an emaciated corpse that had its physical identifiers removed. A knife lay nearby, a red herring towards the cause of death that failed to fool even the local detectives.
Meeting with the others, each member of the coterie shared some of the revelations of the past week. Fischer, for example, had encountered somebody named Marcus. Upon revealing that name, Anders started. Marcus had lead the Sabbat before Detroit had been taken. And supposedly, had been slain by Oscar. Fischer explained that Marcus told him that he would be at the gathering at Elysium in two days, and that he would explain everything then.
At this moment, Winston entered the room. He and Oscar had been told by Esteban that Maxxie was a violent psychopath, spinning story after story of perverse sadism of their time together in Santa Monica. The fact that there was a corpse, one that had once belonged to one of Esteban’s men, right outside of Maxxie’s club brought attention to the club. Vampiric activity in the area would be watched, and that hopefully none of them pointed at Maxxie.
With Winston departing, the coterie decided to follow on some of the leads that Fischer and Vasili had discovered. They returned to the warehouse that Fischer had previously seen somebody at. There were still two vampires in there, which had to be incapacitated. Once that was done, they searched the warehouse. It had been recently emptied, but there were still a few crates left, with a note listing three other addresses.
They followed them to another address, a warehouse that had a ripped hole in the back of it. This warehouse had been cleared as well, with only some debris and leftovers from the contents strewn about.
The next stop was a house, not yet occupied at the time. Dust was thick on the ground, cobwebs covered everything. A note from an inspector, barely finding the place habitable, was the only sign of having entered at all.
The last address on the list led to yet another warehouse. Outside reconnaissance showed that, despite there being no lights on the street or the building itself, there were in fact cameras watching the doors. Fischer managed to find a back entrance into the building, and the coterie began to move through the shadows. Even as they wandered the halls, they were attacked by what appeared to be tumor-ridden, bedraggled dogs. After dispatching them, the group moved forward. They encountered another group of vampires, including one that was warped beyond recognition. Huge, over seven feet tall, covered in tumors and fat, with its hands warped into huge, blade-like claws. After a long, arduous battle that left the group wounded, especially Vasili, they entered the room. Empty but for some chairs and a television, they went to the one room that appeared barred.
Inside, the walls were covered in sigils written in blood, distorted so as to be unrecognizable. In the middle of the room, laying on the ground and in torpor, was Lillian Sinclair, her eyes torn out. Genevieve immediately ordered Maurice to take her to the car, quickly sketching the symbols on the walls. These orders were questioned by the coterie, but Genevieve ignored them, quickly returning Lillian to the Chantry of the Tremere.

Session 2

The night began at the Envy Lounge…

The coterie (the term for a group of vampires) met up with one another at the Envy Lounge, most of them eager to figure out a new approach to the vampires that they had taken care of the night prior.
They continued the investigation, discussing with Chadwick to figure out where some of the recent disappearances had occurred. They followed through with this, leading them to an apartment building that had recently been the focus of a police investigation. It was blatantly broken into, with blood being on the wall, and no owner in sight. A more thorough search revealed that the resident was a man named Wallace, an EMT at a local hospital, and a vampire at that.
Following up on this lead the coterie to the hospital.
(Still in progress)

Welcome to the First Night of the Rest of Your (Un)Life!

The evening began with….
A great deal of Kindred were brought to the MotorCity Casino for a big display for the new arrival from the Camarilla. Vasili and William arrive of their own volition, Maxxie arriving with Anders.
Said arrival is that of Genevieve, an emissary from the Camarilla with the effective rank of Archon. She manages to impress the Council of Detroit. During the gathering, the sheriff of Detroit, Chadwick, is informed of some violent activity occurring in the suburbs. He gathers Vasili, William, Maxxie, Genevieve, and some other neonates to take care of it.
Once there, they discovered that it was two houses that were suspect. Chadwick took one, and the neonates and fledglings under the command of Genevieve took the other.
Inside the house were three (visible) vampires and a series of victims. Vasili and William took the front, quickly dispatching of two vampires with a combination of claws and dragon’s breath rounds.
The rest came around back to secure the humans and dispatch the remaining vampires. There was an additional vampire that was there, which was taken care of. The humans were then secured for mind-wiping.
Vasili managed to get one of the feral vampires in a hold and they were able to interrogate him using Maxxie’s Dominate.
During this, William searched the house, finding only a basement that was soaked in blood.
The feral vampire was questioned, leading to the following facts:
He and his friends were Embraced in Brujah territory.
They don’t know who Embraced them, only that he was tall, black, and had short hair.

They found themselves in this area, hungry.
After this interrogation, Chadwick came in, having cleared the other house of feral vampires, and put a bullet through the head of the interrogated one. He had the Genevieve, Vasili, William and Maxxie leave as a cleanup crew arrived to dispose of the evidence.

Welcome to your campaign!
A blog for your campaign

Wondering how to get started? Here are a few tips:

1. Invite your players

Invite them with either their email address or their Obsidian Portal username.

2. Edit your home page

Make a few changes to the home page and give people an idea of what your campaign is about. That will let people know you’re serious and not just playing with the system.

3. Choose a theme

If you want to set a specific mood for your campaign, we have several backgrounds to choose from. Accentuate it by creating a top banner image.

4. Create some NPCs

Characters form the core of every campaign, so take a few minutes to list out the major NPCs in your campaign.

A quick tip: The “+” icon in the top right of every section is how to add a new item, whether it’s a new character or adventure log post, or anything else.

5. Write your first Adventure Log post

The adventure log is where you list the sessions and adventures your party has been on, but for now, we suggest doing a very light “story so far” post. Just give a brief overview of what the party has done up to this point. After each future session, create a new post detailing that night’s adventures.

One final tip: Don’t stress about making your Obsidian Portal campaign look perfect. Instead, just make it work for you and your group. If everyone is having fun, then you’re using Obsidian Portal exactly as it was designed, even if your adventure log isn’t always up to date or your characters don’t all have portrait pictures.

That’s it! The rest is up to your and your players.
